We will be spending four evenings across North, South, East & West Belfast to bring together the community, thought leaders, policymakers, and sustainability advocates for a panel discussion on how we can build a more sustainable future.
Speakers
Miriam Turley is project officer at Community Gardens Support. Miriam is helping to craft the Belfast Sustainable Food Partnership strategy for the city, gathering insights, challenges and on-the-ground activities to help shape this valuable piece of work, with the aim of shaping policy to help citizens of Belfast.
Lee Robb is the Founder of Positive Carrickfergus and co-founder of Repair Cafe Belfast and Carrick Greengrocers, exploring alternatives to the current economic model, community-led regeneration & the power of the arts.
Professor Mark Emmerson is a community ecologist focussing on the effects of biodiversity change on ecosystem functioning and stability. He is co-director of the Co-Centre for climate, biodiversity and water, and has helped to start the Repair Cafe in Dromore.
Dr Claire McEvoy’s research involves investigation into community-based dietary patterns and disease with the intention of targeting behaviour to improve health and well being during aging, understanding the importance of nutrition in age-related chronic disease, particularly in cardiovascular and cognitive decline.
Paul Kelly & Gawain Morrison are co-founders and directors of Brink!, a platform for engaging with people to discuss different ways that we can live in our city.
