Here, you will find a confidential source of advice and support to individual staff members on equality, diversity and inclusion issues as well providing the appropriate equality, diversity and inclusion training for staff. They can also offer confidential advice

    International Staff Support

    UCU 

    UCU at Queen’s provides individual guidance and support on personal cases and on employment related issues. If you need support regarding your personal circumstances, please contact the Secretary for Local Issues. There is also a dedicated UCU officer for Equality. 

  • External Organisations Supporting Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Communities

    Stronger Together Northern Ireland

    The Stronger Together Network began as an informal network of organisations who work predominantly with culturally and linguistically diverse communities. There are currently over 150 members representing BME Organisations and Groups, BME individuals, Community Sector, Volunteer Sector and Public Service Sector.

    ACSONI

    African and Caribbean Support Organisation Northern Ireland (ACSONI) is a community-based Organisation with a proactive approach towards targeting needs and facilitating belonging among individuals from the continent of Africa, the Caribbean (West Indies) and other families in Northern Ireland with these linkages.

    North West Migrants Forum

    The North West Migrants Forum (NWMF) is a network of individuals working together to tackle racial inequality and prejudice. Based in Derry/Londonderry, NWMF with the fundamental goal of supporting and advising members of black and minority ethnic (BAME) communities who reside in Northern Ireland.

    The Belfast Islamic Centre

    The centre is established to promote the benefit of the Muslim community in NI by promoting religion, advancing education, relieving poverty and distress and by providing facilities for protection of health and recreation with the aim of improving the conditions of life of the community.

    Chinese Welfare Association 

    It aims to enhance diversity and develop the participation of Chinese people in all aspects of social, cultural, economic and public life across Northern Ireland.

    Indian Centre in Belfast 

    The Indian Community Centre, Belfast is a voluntary organisation promoting integration of the Indian diaspora in Northern Ireland and creating awareness of the Indian culture. Set up in 1981 and located on the Clifton Street, we are proactively engaged in many community development and outreach programmes.

    MME Council 

    The MME Council is a strategic advocacy and community think tank that seeks responses and solutions to key societal issues.

  • Immigration Advice and Support

    Migrant Centre NI

    MCNI was established to protect the rights of migrant workers in NI, tackle racism, eliminate barriers against migrant workers, advance education and raise public awareness about their rights. MCNI has 3 offices across NI, in Belfast, Lurgan and Derry-Londonderry.

    Law Centre NI

    Since 1977, Law Centre NI has delivered free and independent legal services in social welfare law areas. We provide expert legal services (in social security, employment, immigration and asylum) to people who live or work in Northern Ireland.
