A JOINT GLOBAL CONNECTION WITH CHINA MEDICAL UNIVERSITY, SHENYANG
CQC was established by Queen’s University Belfast in the People’s Republic of China by Queen’s School of Pharmacy and China Medical University (CMU), one of the foremost medical universities in China.
Queen’s University Belfast is in the top 180 universities in the world and a member of the prestigious Russell Group of Universities. Queen’s is the 25th most international university in the world and is attracting global talent to Belfast and boasts a pioneering Graduate School that is ranked 1st in the world amongst 159 Universities for its pioneering Graduate School. Of the 2,300 international students studying at Queen’s, we have a vibrant Chinese community of over 800 students undertaking study in Belfast.
Queen’s University has a long-standing relationship with China and has been developing strategic partnerships in country for over two decades. Importantly, QUB has recently established a strong and synergistic relationship with China Medical University, helping the next generation of students become world-class, global leaders in the Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The establishment in 2014 of a high profile and sustainable education presence in the People’s Republic of China (PRC) through our flagship Joint College (CQC), between China Medical University (CMU) and Queen’s University Belfast (QUB) provides higher education for undergraduates in Shenyang.
Undergraduate degree programmes, in Pharmaceutical Sciences or Pharmaceutical Biotechnology, are taught in English and delivered to UK Quality Assurance standards in high-quality purpose-built facilities on CMU’s new campus in Shenyang, Liaoning Province. Prior to entry to the QUB degree (Level 1 BSc or Year 2 CQC) students must undertake a rigorous CQC Foundation Programme that will ensure appropriate standards of academic English and science-based skills.
CQC, working alongside the School of Pharmacy at QUB (Ranked 2nd in the UK for Pharmacy, Guardian University Guide) delivers cutting-edge education in Pharmaceutical Sciences and Pharmaceutical Biotechnology and is currently focused on providing students with an internationally-recognised education which supports the growing pharmaceutical sector, particularly within China. This joint partnership allows Chinese students to study for UK undergraduate Pharmaceutical Science and Pharmaceutical biotechnology degrees without having to leave China.
