QUEEN'S 180 AWARD

This special anniversary award recognises an individual or team whose work reflects Queen’s long-standing civic mission and has made a lasting contribution to society through education, research, innovation, or community engagement.

This might be through conducting research that has shaped lives and communities over time, delivering outstanding teaching or student support, driving positive change through transformative leadership, or building meaningful partnerships that strengthen Queen’s connection with society.

The award celebrates contributions that embody the spirit of the University’s 180th anniversary - showcasing real-world impact across areas such as health and wellbeing, social value, community collaboration, technological innovation, or environmental sustainability.

Prize

£1,000 will be awarded to the winning individual. The team prize is capped at £5,000.

Entry Criteria

  • This award is open to both individuals and teams. Please note, teams should comprise of no more than 20 members.

    If the nominee(s) have collaborated with partners outside Queen's for a particular project, they can be included in the nomination, however, please note that only Queen's staff members can be named as winners and awarded prize money.

Nomination Advice

The judges will be looking for demonstrable contributions that advance Queen’s civic mission and create lasting societal impact. This may be shown through research, teaching, student support, leadership, or partnerships, with clear evidence of real-world benefits in areas such as health, social value, community, innovation, or sustainability, embodying the spirit of the university's 180th anniversary.
